# Barcelona: EMEA events hub

Barcelona's tracked calendar splits across three smaller clusters rather than one dominant sector: AI events (AI Week Barcelona and AI Summit Barcelona, both in September 2026), a sport business event (SportBiz Europe), and a digital health conference (the 6th Digital Health Conference), alongside developer and open-source events (swampUP Europe, Mozilla Festival). MWC, tracked here with its next Barcelona edition in March 2027, is by far the largest single event in the city on this index.

## Why this mix, and why it is smaller than London or Berlin

Barcelona's professional events calendar on this index is thinner than London, Berlin, or Paris, reflecting both a genuinely smaller concentration of standalone conferences in these sectors and the fact that MWC's scale as a mobile and telecoms trade fair sits somewhat apart from the AI, sport tech, and health events tracked alongside it. ## Reading the Barcelona calendar

The AI and developer events cluster in September and October 2026. MWC's March 2027 date sits apart from that cluster, on its own annual cycle independent of the rest of the city's calendar.
