# Edge AI: the 2026 circuit

Edge AI, AI models running on constrained hardware rather than in the cloud, does not yet have its own dedicated conference circuit in Europe. Eight events carry this tag on the index, and only two or three exist because of edge AI specifically. The rest are established electronics, embedded systems and industrial trade fairs where edge AI has become a growing track inside a larger programme built around components, automotive electronics, industrial automation or connectivity. A concentrated technical conversation on edge inference lives at Brains on Silicon in Dresden; sourcing edge AI silicon means the exhibition floor at electronica, embedded world or Hannover Messe, where edge AI sits alongside thousands of other exhibitors covering the rest of the supply chain.

## Who is in the room

**Brains on Silicon** draws applied AI and ML engineers working on edge inference and model compression, alongside photonics and robotics researchers from the Dresden Silicon Saxony cluster: the closest thing on this list to a dedicated edge AI audience. **Hardware Pioneers Max** in London draws UK electronics and embedded engineers for whom edge AI is one track among FPGA design, IoT connectivity and power electronics. The **Industrial AI Summit Munich** is an invitation-only, 150-person forum for C-suite manufacturing executives on AI deployment at scale, closer to industrial AI policy than to hardware engineering.

The remaining five draw their audience from a host industry, not from edge AI. **electronica** and **embedded world** attract electronics design engineers and embedded developers whose primary interest is the full component and systems supply chain; edge AI kits and NPU-equipped SoCs are one evaluation category among many on halls-sized floors. **Hannover Messe** draws industrial automation engineers for whom edge AI means computer vision and predictive maintenance inside a programme built on robotics and energy systems. **SEMICON Europa** draws process and packaging engineers working upstream, on the chip design that makes edge accelerators possible. **MWC** draws telco executives for whom edge computing is one node in a six-domain programme built around 5G, 6G and connectivity.

## How the room actually works

Only Brains on Silicon and Hardware Pioneers Max are structured as conferences in the ordinary sense, talks with an exhibition as a secondary element. The Industrial AI Summit Munich is neither: a closed working forum with no slide decks and no public registration. The other five are trade fairs first, built around exhibition floors measured in tens of thousands of square metres, with edge AI represented through exhibitor booths and, at electronica, a dedicated conference-within-the-fair (edge lab LIVE, new for 2026, running its own three-day technical programme and workshop track on the show floor), rather than a programme organised around edge AI as the central theme for the fair as a whole.

## The seasonal structure

Hardware Pioneers Max opened the 2026 window in June (9 to 10 June, London). The Industrial AI Summit Munich runs a single day in autumn, 8 October 2026. electronica and SEMICON Europa share the same November week in Munich (10 to 13 November 2026), and Brains on Silicon runs just before that, in mid-September (14 to 15 September) in Dresden. Hannover Messe's fiche currently carries April 2027 dates pending confirmation of the 2026 spring edition. MWC and embedded world both carry next-edition dates in March 2027: MWC Barcelona runs into early March, and embedded world's Nuremberg edition, its 25th anniversary, is scheduled for 16 to 18 March.

## The 2026 context

The pattern across this group held through mid-2026: edge AI keeps arriving as a named track inside events built around something else, not yet generating enough independent demand to support its own multi-day circuit. electronica put edge AI and automation at the centre of its 2026 "Empowering the All Electric Society" theme and launched edge lab LIVE, a three-day technical conference that added its own Cyber Resilience Act compliance day for connected products, but the event remains, at 80,000 visitors and 3,480-plus exhibitors, a full electronics trade fair rather than an edge AI show. embedded world's most recent edition, in March 2026, carried a concrete edge AI silicon story: Texas Instruments used the show to launch two new microcontroller families built around its TinyEngine on-chip neural processing hardware, evidence that new edge inference silicon still gets timed to the general trade fair calendar rather than to a dedicated edge AI event. Hannover Messe has treated industrial and edge AI as a thematic pillar since 2019, inside a programme still organised around automation and energy broadly, with its next edition confirmed for 5 to 8 April 2027. The Industrial AI Summit Munich, run by three industrial AI scale-ups, Ethon, SPREAD and Pelico, under the EU AI Champions Initiative, the 60-plus company coalition led by General Catalyst, remains the clearest sign of a parallel, executive-level track forming around industrial AI deployment, but it draws its authority from that initiative rather than from an established edge AI event brand. Even Brains on Silicon, the event closest to a dedicated edge AI audience, used its September 2026 edition to broaden rather than narrow: the programme now spans four pillars, agentic workflows, human and AI collaboration, physical AI (which folds edge inference in alongside robotics and photonics) and EU AI Act-driven sovereign infrastructure, with keynote slots given to Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. The event on this list closest to an edge AI identity is moving toward general applied AI, not away from it.

## Trends 2027

Watch whether electronica's edge lab LIVE format returns and expands at the 2028 edition, since electronica is biennial: its first run paired edge AI with a dedicated product-security compliance day, suggesting EU regulation may end up doing more to pull a standalone embedded and edge conference format together than edge AI demand alone. Watch Brains on Silicon move in the other direction: its September 2026 edition grew to four stages and over 100 speakers, with keynote slots for Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, but it grew by adding agentic workflows and sovereign AI infrastructure tracks, not by narrowing toward edge inference, so it looks more likely to settle as a general applied AI conference with edge AI as one track among several than as a dedicated edge AI reference point. And watch whether any organiser launches a standalone European edge AI conference in the 2027 window: none has surfaced as of this edition, and the direction the two most edge-focused events on this list are actually taking, electronica toward compliance and Brains on Silicon toward general applied AI, suggests the segment keeps consolidating inside existing programmes rather than spinning out its own.

## Related hubs

[November 2026](/november-2026-major-events.html) carries electronica and SEMICON Europa, the two largest events in this segment. [Munich](/munich.html) is the city hub for both, plus the Industrial AI Summit Munich.

## Methodology and data standards

Each event record is built from primary source verification against the organiser's own website. Attendance and programme figures come from official event materials and are flagged as self-declared where no independent figure is available. Dates reflect the most recently confirmed edition; where that falls in 2027, it is shown rather than an estimated 2026 date.

This page groups events tagged edge-ai as a controlled sector value in the database. It does not imply that all eight are dedicated edge AI conferences: five (electronica, embedded world, Hannover Messe, SEMICON Europa, MWC) are large diversified trade fairs where edge AI is one track among several, not a mature vertical on the scale of the developer AI or digital health circuits tracked elsewhere on this index. Records not reviewed within twelve months are flagged for re-verification before being surfaced in search results.
