History and origin

Expert Security has been organised at the IEC Kyiv, Ukraine's largest exhibition venue, for several years. The exhibition positions itself as a platform enabling the Ukrainian state to strengthen public security through industry engagement, technology transfer and expert dialogue. In the years following 2022, when Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the continued operation of Expert Security took on heightened significance: running a professional security exhibition in an active conflict environment signals both institutional resilience and a concrete, war-driven demand for the technologies on display. Participation by international brands such as Hikvision, Dahua, Ajax Systems, Bosch, Trend Micro and Fortinet at previous editions reflects Ukraine's pre-existing integration into the global security supply chain.

The 2026 edition: security exhibition in wartime

The 26-28 May 2026 edition proceeded as scheduled at the IEC Kyiv. No post-event figures were available at the time of record creation. The preliminary exhibitor list for 2026 was published on the official website ahead of the show. The exhibition continued to cover both physical security (perimeter protection, CCTV, access control, biometrics) and technology-driven domains (AI-based analytics, robotic systems, specialised communications and cyber security), reflecting the convergence that has accelerated since 2022 between civilian security and military-adjacent dual-use capabilities.

Where Expert Security sits in the defence calendar

Expert Security is primarily a security-industry event rather than a military defence exhibition. Its geographic position -- Kyiv, Ukraine -- and its wartime context give it a dimension that no comparable Western-European security show shares: procurement decisions made here respond directly to real and ongoing operational demand. The venue: International Exhibition Centre (IEC), Kyiv

The International Exhibition Centre (IEC) is located at 15 Brovarskyi Avenue (Brovarskyi prospekt), Kyiv, Ukraine. It is one of the largest exhibition complexes in Eastern Europe. Public transport: Livoberezhna metro station (Kyiv Metro Line 1, Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska/Red Line) is 7 to 9 minutes on foot from the IEC entrance. From central Kyiv the journey takes approximately 10 minutes by metro. Boryspil International Airport is located approximately 27 km from the IEC; ground transport takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on conditions.

First time at Expert Security? How to prepare

• Check travel advisories before committing. Kyiv is an active conflict zone. Consult your national foreign ministry travel advisory and register your presence with your embassy before departing. The IEC and the show have operated during the conflict, but the security environment can change rapidly.
• Plan transport from the airport and city centre carefully. Boryspil International Airport to the IEC is approximately 27 km; expect 30-45 minutes by taxi or transfer. Livoberezhna metro station is 7-9 minutes on foot from the IEC and provides the fastest connection from central Kyiv.
• Download the exhibitor list before arrival. The preliminary list is published on expert-security.com.ua ahead of the show. Prepare a prioritised list of exhibitor stands to visit, as the show lacks a large conference programme and most productive engagement happens directly at stands.
• Bring business cards in Ukrainian or in English. Ukrainian is the working language on the floor; English is used for international interactions. Russian-language materials are no longer the standard for Ukrainian professional events.
• Account for schedule flexibility. Operating in a wartime environment means that air-raid alerts can interrupt show hours. Build flexibility into your agenda and be prepared for periods spent in the venue shelter.
