The Future Investment Initiative is the annual forum where sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, heads of state and technology founders gather in Riyadh each October, run by a nonprofit institute founded by and chaired by an executive of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, for its 10th edition, FII10, on 26 to 29 October 2026.
Future Investment Initiative (FII) is an annual global investment conference held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, organised by the FII Institute, a nonprofit foundation whose founding partner is Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF). Launched in 2017, it brings sovereign wealth fund leaders, institutional investors, heads of state, ministers and business executives together to discuss capital allocation, artificial intelligence, energy and geopolitics. The 2026 edition, FII10, is the conference's 10th anniversary, held under the theme "The Power of Legacy" from 26 to 29 October at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center (KAICC).
26 to 29 October 2026. King Abdulaziz International Conference Center (KAICC), Al-Hada district, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The four days are not uniform: 26 October (Day 0) is invitation-only pre-programming (exclusive conclaves, the inauguration of the "FII Avenue" activation space, member-only workshops, an invitation-only Member's Reception in the evening); 27 to 29 October (Days 1 to 3) run the main KAICC programme, with 29 October billed by the organiser as "Investment Day." FII Institute (Future Investment Initiative Institute), a nonprofit foundation the Institute's own materials say was legally established in 2019, "born from" the Future Investment Initiative that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) launched in 2017 under the Vision 2030 programme. PIF is FII's founding partner. Chairman of the FII Institute is Yasir O. Al-Rumayyan, who is also PIF's Governor and Saudi Aramco's chairman; Chief Executive Officer is H.R.H. Dr. Maha bint Mishari Al Saud, referred to in earlier press coverage as Princess Maha bint Mishari Al Saud. Richard Attias chairs the FII Institute's Executive Committee and is separately the founder of Richard Attias & Associates, the firm the FII10 factsheet credits as the event's producer and discloses as "a Sanabil Portfolio Company," Sanabil Investments being a PIF-owned investment arm. Other Board or Executive Committee members named in the FII10 factsheet include Matteo Renzi (Senator, former Prime Minister of Italy), Peter Diamandis, Tony Chan, Mohamed Alabbar, Adah Almutairi, Noel Quinn, Martin Sorrell, Dina Powell McCormick, Maram Al Johani, Yasir bin Abdullah Alsalman and H.R.H. Amb. Reema Bandar Al-Saud. Source: FII10 official factsheet, pages 19 and 21.
The organiser's FII10 factsheet projects 10,000+ attendees, alongside 2,000+ members and 700+ media representatives, for the 2026 edition; these are organiser figures published ahead of the event, not an audited count. For comparison, the last confirmed edition, FII9 (October 2025), closed with over 9,000 delegates from around 90 countries, including 2,000 membership participants and 600+ media, according to the organiser's own post-event release; that is the most recent number anyone outside FII Institute has been able to check against an actual turnout. Attendee categories named in FII10's own speaker and partner materials: sovereign wealth fund governors and CIOs, heads of state and ministers, bank and asset-manager CEOs, and technology founders. Access runs through FII Institute membership or direct invitation, not open ticket sale (see "cost" entry below). FII Institute membership itself totals 2,000+ leaders across 100+ countries year-round, per the Institute's membership page.
The FII Institute's factsheet projects 550+ speakers for FII10, but as of this research (3 September 2026) only a partial roster had been individually named. The 33 below come from the Institute's own press release, "FII Institute Announces Leading Global Finance and Investment Speakers for FII10" (fii-institute.org/press, published around early August 2026); the rest of the projected 550+ are not yet published.
FII Institute leadership figures who typically appear on stage at the Institute's own event, but who were not part of that August speaker announcement: Yasir Al-Rumayyan (listed above in his PIF capacity), CEO H.R.H. Dr. Maha bint Mishari Al Saud, and board member Matteo Renzi. Their participation in FII10 specifically is expected by role, not separately confirmed as a speaking slot at the time of research.
FII10 marks the conference's 10th anniversary. The theme changes from FII9's "The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth" (2025) to "The Power of Legacy" (2026), and the programme is reorganised around four new pillars: capital that builds, technology that elevates, societies that thrive, and leadership that inspires. New activation formats named in the FII10 factsheet: "FII Avenue," an outdoor activation hub inaugurated within the KAICC complex; the "Investment Arena and Innovation Hub," a dedicated dealmaking space; "FII Innovators Pitch 2026"; and an interactive "PRIORITY Compass" tool. The organiser's attendance projection rises to 10,000+ for FII10, up from FII9's confirmed final count of over 9,000 delegates in 2025.
Four pillars structure FII10's content, per the official factsheet: "capital that builds" (sovereign, institutional and private capital re-architected for long-duration impact), "technology that elevates" (AI, biotech, energy and space, with governance attached), "societies that thrive" (education, health, culture, sport and the institutions that hold societies together) and "leadership that inspires" (stewardship and legacy as a leadership discipline rather than a retrospective exercise). The organiser projects 250+ sessions across 7 stages. Day-by-day: Day 0 (26 October) is invitation-only pre-programming; Day 1 (27 October) opens with an Opening Ceremony followed by a full day of KAICC programming and closes with the invitation-only FII Legacy Awards and Gala Dinner; Day 2 (28 October) runs a Networking Breakfast, a full KAICC programme day and the Family Office Factor Summit; Day 3 (29 October), styled "Investment Day," runs the PIF Asset Management Forum, FII Innovators Pitch 2026, Investment Roadshows, Thesis-Driven Workshops and Investor Matchmaking, followed by a Closing Ceremony and the FII Annual Golf Invitational at Riyadh Golf Club.
Ceremonies, plenary and panel sessions, closed-door forums (the PIF Asset Management Forum, the Family Office Factor Summit), a startup pitch competition (FII Innovators Pitch 2026), investment roadshows, thesis-driven workshops and organised investor matchmaking, plus non-session activations: an interactive "PRIORITY Compass" data tool, the "Investment Arena and Innovation Hub" for dealmaking, "Special Screenings," a "Media Partners Gallery," and an on-site "FII TV Studio" that livestreams parts of the programme (see "remote" entry). FII10 is an in-person event; content runs across 7 stages, per the official factsheet.
All of the following sit inside the four-day FII10 week and are restricted to members or invitees rather than open to general delegates: Day 0's exclusive conclaves and invitation-only Member's Reception; the invitation-only FII Legacy Awards and Gala Dinner on Day 1; the Family Office Factor Summit on Day 2; and, on Day 3, the PIF Asset Management Forum, FII Innovators Pitch 2026, Investment Roadshows, Thesis-Driven Workshops, Investor Matchmaking, and the FII Annual Golf Invitational at Riyadh Golf Club. None of these carry a separate public application process beyond the membership or invitation route described in "cost" below.
There is no per-event ticket. Attendance runs through FII Institute annual membership or direct invitation. Individual membership: 15,000 USD per year. Corporate membership: 15,000 USD per year for the first registered member, 12,000 USD per year for members 2 to 5, and 10,000 USD per year for members 6 to 10. Startup membership, for companies less than two years old: 10,000 USD per year. Membership grants access to the FII10 conference in Riyadh and to every FII Priority regional summit held that year (see "other editions"), plus year-round benefits (members-only lounges, invitation-only receptions, a concierge service, and thought-leadership placement on FII Institute channels). Source: fii-institute.org/membership/, checked 3 September 2026. Media attend through a separate, free accreditation route (see "press accreditation"), not through membership.
No public call for speakers or speaker-application form was found on fii-institute.org or its conference pages as of 3 September 2026. The published roster is organiser-curated; the 33 names announced for FII10 (see "speakers list" entry) are senior executives, government officials and FII Institute board members, consistent with an invited rather than submitted programme.
No public, self-serve sponsorship application was found. FII10's partner tiers (Founding Partner, Vision Partners, Strategic Partners) are named on the factsheet and the conference page (see "who sponsors" below), but the path to negotiate one is not documented; the FII10 factsheet routes general partnership and activation enquiries to partnership@fii-institute.org. A distinct, lower-cost route to a brand presence is Corporate FII Institute membership (see "cost"), which is a membership tier, not a named sponsorship.
Per the FII10 official factsheet ("Thank You to Our Esteemed Partners," fii-institute.org, downloaded 3 September 2026): the event is "Powered by" the FII Institute; its Founding Partner is the Public Investment Fund (PIF); its three Vision Partners are the Ministry of Investment, Aramco and ADES. Its Strategic Partners, as printed on the factsheet (the organiser states 45 in total; the following is every name legible on the page): ACWA, ALAT, Arabian Dyar, Barclays, Brookfield, Diriyah, EFG Hermes, Emaar, Expo 2030 Riyadh, Franklin Templeton, GFH, Guggenheim Investments, HSBC, Humain, Jingdong, King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), King Salman International Airport (KSIA), Ma'aden, MARA, Minerva Foods, Mizuho, MUFG, NEOM, New Murabba, Premium Residency, Red Sea Global, Riyad Bank, Riyadh Air, Royal Commission for AlUla, SABIC, Sanabil Investments, Saudi Energy, SMBC, SNB, SoftBank Vision Fund, Soudah Development, Standard Chartered, State Street, STC, Thiqah, VCM, Visa and Vision Invest. The event is produced by Richard Attias & Associates, itself a Sanabil (PIF) portfolio company. Separately, FII10's conference webpage names Media Contributors, not financial sponsors: Africa 24, Al Ayam, Al Ekhbariya, Al Eqtisadiah, Argaam, Asharq Bloomberg, Citywire, CNN Business, Debtwire, Entrepreneur, Forbes Middle East, Media One, Skynews Arabia, The National and Wind 3C Conference (see "press reliability" for what those media relationships mean).
Read directly from the rosters above, not from a published breakdown, three groups dominate. Saudi state-linked entities and Public Investment Fund portfolio companies: Aramco, ACWA, NEOM, ROSHN-adjacent giga-projects such as Diriyah, Red Sea Global, New Murabba and Soudah Development, plus SABIC, Ma'aden, Riyadh Air and Sanabil Investments itself. Global and Asian banks and asset managers: HSBC, Barclays, Standard Chartered, State Street, Franklin Templeton, Guggenheim Investments, Mizuho, MUFG and SMBC among the named partners, and JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, Blackstone, Apollo Global Management and KKR among the named speakers' employers. A smaller technology and AI contingent appears mainly through Humain, SoftBank Vision Fund and individual speakers from Alphabet, JD.com and elsewhere, rather than as a dominant sponsor category. No percentage breakdown is published by the organiser.
The FII10 factsheet routes media enquiries to media@fii-institute.org and to a "Media Partners Gallery" activation on site; the conference also maintains a Media Hub at register.fii-institute.org, which did not resolve for this research on 3 September 2026. No published eligibility criteria (recent editorial work, named outlet, audience size) were found for FII10 specifically. For the prior edition, FII9, the dedicated registration page at myfiiplatform.fii-institute.org showed "Registration is now closed" at the time it was checked and told non-accredited media they could still "join us online and watch all plenary sessions live on FII TV" (see "remote" entry). No FII10-specific deadline or criteria beyond this could be confirmed.
Two distinct layers. First, the organiser's own listed Media Contributors for FII10 (Africa 24, Al Ayam, Al Ekhbariya, Al Eqtisadiah, Argaam, Asharq Bloomberg, Citywire, CNN Business, Debtwire, Entrepreneur, Forbes Middle East, Media One, Skynews Arabia, The National, Wind 3C Conference), per fii-institute.org/conference/fii-10th-edition/. Second, independent wire and business-press coverage of past editions exists outside that list: Bloomberg's own (non-Asharq) newsroom covered FII8 in October 2024, reporting an expected 28 billion USD in deals; general news outlets have also covered FII's political dimension, including the 2018 boycott of the conference by several Western banks, media groups and officials following the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. No FII10-specific independent investigative coverage was found during this research pass beyond announcement and preview pieces.
Four tiers, not one undifferentiated press pool. Organiser-arranged, not independent: Asharq Bloomberg is a joint venture majority controlled by Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), whose controlling shareholders include Public Investment Fund-linked structures, so its Bloomberg-branded coverage of FII is not independent Bloomberg News reporting, and it sits on FII's own Media Contributors list. Forbes Middle East is a regional licensee of the Forbes brand, also on that same contributors list, not Forbes' own newsroom. Independent but a licensed regional affiliate, not the parent newsroom: CNN Business, as listed among FII's contributors, corresponds to CNN Business Arabic, operated by International Media Investments in Abu Dhabi under license from CNN, distinct from CNN's own global business desk. Independent and substantive, but not about FII10 specifically: Bloomberg's main newsroom and other wire services have reported on prior FII editions' dealmaking and political context without being listed FII partners. Organiser-claimed, unverified: the factsheet's own "700+ Media Representatives" figure for FII10 is a projection, not an audited press-corps count. Net read: the press presence built into FII's own materials is dominated by outlets with a commercial or licensing relationship to the event or to PIF-linked shareholders; the more critical, independent coverage FII has received (chiefly around the 2018 Khashoggi-related boycott) came from outlets with no relationship to the event at all.
Early-stage founders without institutional backing or an existing relationship to FII Institute membership, retail and individual investors, and professionals outside finance, government, policy or senior technology roles: access runs through paid annual membership or invitation, not open registration (see "cost"). Specialists seeking deep single-domain technical exchange should also look elsewhere: FII is a broad macro and capital-markets forum organised around four wide pillars, not a vertical technical conference.
FII has run every October in Riyadh since 2017 and is nicknamed "Davos in the Desert" by international media, a label the World Economic Forum has publicly objected to being applied to unaffiliated events. WEF's own Davos meeting runs each January in Switzerland and draws a broader mix of heads of state, prime ministers and central bank governors. The Milken Institute Global Conference, held each spring in the Los Angeles area, plays a comparable convening role for US-based capital and is itself informally called a "Davos" equivalent. The Bloomberg New Economy Forum is a rough peer in bringing together heads of state, CEOs and investors around capital and geopolitics. FII's structural difference from all three is direct organisational proximity to a single sovereign wealth fund, PIF, rather than an independent nonprofit or media-company model. Beyond the Riyadh flagship, FII Institute also runs a year-round FII Priority regional series (see "other editions").
Yes. Per the FII10 factsheet's own decade timeline, the FII Priority regional series has run in New York ("Health is Wealth," 2021, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly), London ("Inclusive ESG for Emerging Markets," 2022), Miami (2022, again on the UNGA sidelines that year, then 2023, 2024, "Invest with Purpose" in 2025 and "Capital in Motion" in 2026), Hong Kong ("FII Priority Asia," 2023), Rio de Janeiro ("Invest in Dignity," 2024), Tirana ("FII Priority Europe," 2025) and Tokyo ("FII Priority Asia," 2nd edition, 2025), most recently Rome ("FII Priority Europe: Europe Reimagined," 17 to 19 June 2026). The Riyadh flagship remains the founding and by far the largest edition; FII Priority summits are shorter, regionally focused extensions of the same institute, not interchangeable with it in scale.
English and Arabic are both used across FII's programming, per this database's working record; no session-by-session or track-by-track language breakdown is published on fii-institute.org, and the FII10 factsheet reviewed for this fiche does not itemise language by session.
Partially, for some sessions, not confirmed for others. The FII10 factsheet describes an on-site "FII TV Studio" as the event's "live broadcast hub," turning the conference into what it calls "a global newsroom" reaching "boardrooms, newsrooms, and audiences worldwide." For the prior edition, FII9, the media registration page told applicants who had missed accreditation that they could still "join us online and watch all plenary sessions live on FII TV," which confirms at least plenary-level livestreaming in past years. No FII10-specific statement on which sessions are livestreamed, whether a public on-demand replay exists afterward, or whether non-plenary or invitation-only sessions (the Gala Dinner, the Family Office Factor Summit, the PIF Asset Management Forum) are ever broadcast was found during this research.
Not publicly disclosed. FII10 has no per-event ticket to refund; attendance runs through annual FII Institute membership (see "cost") or direct invitation, and no refund or cancellation terms for membership fees were found on fii-institute.org's membership pages or membership terms page during this research.
Not publicly disclosed. No accessibility statement was found on the FII10 conference page, the membership pages, or the official factsheet reviewed for this fiche.
King Abdulaziz International Conference Center (KAICC) sits in the Al-Hada district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Independent venue directories (not an FII Institute source) put it at roughly 25 kilometres, about 15 minutes by car, from King Khalid International Airport. FII10's own materials reviewed for this fiche do not publish shuttle, parking or transport details for the 2026 edition.
Treat the FII10 factsheet's own "10,000+ Attendees" and "550+ Speakers" as a projection published before the event, not a count anyone outside FII Institute has verified. The only figure with any independent-style check behind it is FII9's post-event number, over 9,000 delegates in 2025, and that number still comes from the organiser's own closing release, not an external audit. A conference that grows its headline attendance figure by roughly a thousand from one year's confirmed result to the next year's pre-event projection is telling a growth story, which is not the same thing as reporting one.
The Public Investment Fund is FII's founding partner and employer of its chairman, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, who is simultaneously PIF's Governor and Saudi Aramco's chairman. The company that produces FII10, Richard Attias and Associates, discloses itself on the official factsheet as a Sanabil Investments portfolio company, and Sanabil is PIF's own investment arm. One of FII's own listed media contributors, Asharq Bloomberg, is a joint venture whose controlling shareholder chain runs back to PIF as well. None of that makes FII's content worthless, but it means the fund whose capital allocation decisions the forum exists to discuss is also the fund paying for the stage, the producer and part of the press coverage.
