health.tech, styled the health.tech global summit, is an annual healthcare innovation summit held at Messe Basel in Switzerland. It began in Munich in 2022 as a healthcare vertical of the Bits & Pretzels founder festival, backed by Roche and EIT Health, and relocated to Basel for its 2026 edition. The event is now run by health.tech events GmbH, a joint venture between the Swiss exhibitions group MCH Group and Bits & Pretzels. The first Basel edition in March 2026 drew about 6,000 participants from more than 60 countries, and the 2027 edition returns to Messe Basel on 2 to 4 March.
health.tech exists to connect the whole healthcare value chain in one place: startups and scale-ups, pharmaceutical and biotech corporates, hospital systems, investors, payers and policymakers. Its value sits in curated content plus structured matchmaking rather than a pure exhibition floor, with pitch competitions and investor meetings built into the format. The summit is organised around four permanent tracks, so an attendee can follow therapeutic development, preventative health, care delivery or artificial intelligence as a through-line across the three days.

Across three days the summit runs four stages, workshops and masterclasses, an exhibition, curated one to one matchmaking and startup pitch sessions, with investor access built into the ticket structure. The founder and investor matchmaking is a direct inheritance from the Bits & Pretzels community that spun the event out.

Basel. The event started in Munich in 2022 but relocated to Messe Basel for its 2026 edition, and the 2027 edition is confirmed for Basel again. The "Health Tech Munich" name is now historical; the current brand is the health.tech global summit.
health.tech is a Swiss innovation summit of roughly 6,000 participants built around startups, investors and four content tracks. DMEA is the much larger German digital health trade event of around 20,000 visitors, and it is itself moving to Munich from 2027. In effect the two events swapped host cities in the same window, with health.tech the higher-touch, investor-facing option.
health.tech is held at Messe Basel, the exhibition and congress complex in central Basel operated by MCH Group, with satellite city events around the main summit.
The summit is run by health.tech events GmbH, a joint venture between MCH Group, the Swiss exhibitions company behind Art Basel and Baselworld, and Bits & Pretzels, the Munich founder community brand. Roche and EIT Health were founding partners when the healthcare vertical launched in 2022.
health.tech left Munich for Basel in 2026 and reset itself as a Swiss healthcare innovation summit, with an AI in Healthcare track sitting alongside its startup and investor matchmaking, the same week DMEA moves the other way into Munich.

An early-bird pass was listed at 2,499 CHF excluding VAT ahead of the summer deadline, with separate categories for startups, investors, two-day attendees, vendors and consultants, the last of which adds meeting scheduling access.
