Protection Technologies / FireTech is Ukraine's principal international trade exhibition for fire safety, emergency response, rescue operations, civil protection, occupational safety and related technologies, held annually at the International Exhibition Centre (IEC) in Kyiv. The 22nd edition took place 26-28 May 2026, co-located with the 5th Expert Security exhibition, as part of a broader industrial cluster at the IEC. The next edition is expected in 2027.
Protection Technologies / FireTech is an international trade exhibition for fire safety of buildings and infrastructure, technical equipment for fire fighting units, special vehicles, technogenic and industrial safety, personal and collective protective equipment, occupational safety and the management of consequences of natural and man-made disasters. It has been held annually (or near-annually) at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv since its inception in 2002, making the 2026 edition the 22nd. The exhibition is organised by Kyiv Global Expo, the trading name of the International Exhibition Company (IEC) operating the IEC venue. Since 2022 it has been co-located with Expert Security, a separate exhibition focused on electronic and physical security systems.
The exhibition launched in 2002 under the concept of consolidating Ukraine's fragmented fire safety and occupational health sector into a single national platform. Over two decades it grew to be the primary forum where Ukrainian state fire brigades, civil protection authorities, industrial safety managers and international manufacturers of fire protection technology met. The event continued to run through the years of conflict that began in 2022, reflecting the prioritisation of civil protection, rescue technology and occupational safety in the wartime and reconstruction-period economy. The 22nd edition in 2026 represents more than two decades of uninterrupted operation in one of the most challenging environments for trade exhibition in Europe.
The 2026 exhibition took place 26-28 May at the IEC Kyiv, which resumed regular operations after periods of disruption. The edition was held as part of a large May cluster at the IEC that also included the 24th International Industrial Forum, the 17th Plast Expo UA, and the 9th Addit Expo 3D. Expert Security (5th edition) was co-located in the same halls. Product categories on display included fire suppression systems for buildings and industrial facilities, firefighting and rescue vehicles, personal protective equipment for fire brigades, detection and alarm systems, CBRN protection, humanitarian demining equipment, occupational health and safety systems, emergency medicine and nuclear/radiation safety technology. Specific exhibitor counts and visitor figures for the 2026 edition were not published as of the verification date.
The IEC Kyiv operates one of the densest trade show calendars in Eastern Europe, clustering exhibitions into two main windows (May and October). Protection Technologies is the anchor event of the May security-adjacent cluster, alongside Expert Security. Given the ongoing reconstruction and modernisation requirements of Ukrainian civil protection, emergency services and industrial facilities, the exhibition holds strategic relevance for both domestic procurement and foreign suppliers entering the Ukrainian market. Its regional positioning is unique: no comparable dedicated fire and rescue exhibition exists in Ukraine.
Visitors. State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) officers and procurement managers, civil protection authorities, industrial safety managers from energy, mining, chemicals and manufacturing, municipal emergency services, construction project managers responsible for fire safety compliance, and representatives of insurance and risk management companies.
Exhibitors. Ukrainian and international manufacturers and distributors of firefighting equipment, fire detection and suppression systems (sprinklers, gas suppression, foam systems), rescue vehicles and special machinery, personal protective equipment for hazardous environments, occupational safety systems, CBRN detection and protection, emergency communication, and humanitarian demining technology.
Main exhibition. Indoor and outdoor stands covering the full product range for fire safety, emergency services and occupational safety. International brands exhibit alongside Ukrainian manufacturers and distributors.
Expert Security co-location. Since 2022, Protection Technologies has been co-located with the Expert Security exhibition, which focuses on video surveillance, access control, alarm systems, perimeter security, building automation and information security. Visitor crossover between the two exhibitions is high, given the overlapping procurement responsibilities of target audiences.
Conference and seminar programme. A supporting programme of technical seminars, regulatory updates and product presentations run across the three days. Details of the 2026 programme are not publicly available as of 10 June 2026.
Co-location cluster. The May 2026 IEC cluster also included the International Industrial Forum (with sub-fairs for metalworking, automation, robotics, hydraulics, 3D printing, green energy and plastics), providing additional cross-sector networking opportunities.

Yes. Historically, exhibitors have come from 18 or more countries, including major European and Asian manufacturers of fire and safety equipment. The exhibition provides access to the Ukrainian market and to procurement managers from the State Emergency Service.
The IEC continued to operate its exhibition calendar in 2026 and hosted multiple major events in the May cluster. Specific conditions and access requirements should be confirmed directly with the organiser before planning attendance.
The focus is civilian fire safety, rescue and occupational safety rather than military applications. However, the civil protection and CBRN categories have dual-use relevance, and humanitarian demining has been a growing thematic area in recent editions.
