Europe's only dedicated event for audio in sports broadcasting: live capture, immersive sound and audio over IP.
The Sports Audio Summit is the SVG Europe event dedicated to the audio side of sports broadcasting, the only gathering of its kind in Europe. Held on 12 November 2026 at Kings Place in London, it brings together the broadcast audio community around live sound capture, immersive audio and the migration to audio over IP. As part of the SVG Europe calendar it gives a specialist discipline its own stage, covering subjects that broader broadcast conferences treat only in passing.
Audio is the most specialised corner of sports production, with its own engineers, vendors and standards, and SVG Europe created a dedicated event to serve it. The Summit sits within SVG Europe's audio strand, which also includes year-round audio coverage and related forums, and it has become the reference point for the European sports sound community.
The room gathers broadcast sound engineers, sound supervisors and audio designers from broadcasters and host broadcasters, alongside the audio manufacturers that serve them, including names such as Calrec, Lawo, Sennheiser, Shure and Solid State Logic. The audience is small but highly qualified, concentrated on the people who actually capture and mix live sport.
The agenda addresses immersive and object-based audio, including Atmos-style approaches applied to sport, digital microphone arrays, live mixing techniques, loudness and the shift to audio over IP. These are the topics that rarely get dedicated time at general broadcast events but that materially shape the quality of the live experience.
The Summit is a single day at Kings Place, a venue well suited to audio with its concert-hall heritage. The format combines presentations, panels and demonstrations with focused networking among a tight community of audio specialists.
The Sports Audio Summit falls in November, in the autumn run of SVG Europe events, complementing the production, transmission, digital and football gatherings by isolating the audio layer. It is the one European event where the sound side of sports production is the main subject rather than a sub-track.
For the vertical, the Sports Audio Summit is a vertical within the vertical: the only European venue dedicated to sports audio, with the immersive and audio-over-IP angles that define current innovation, and a concentrated audience of sound supervisors and audio vendors that is otherwise dispersed.
