# The smarter E Europe

> *Four co-located exhibitions at Messe Munchen covering solar, energy storage, electric mobility charging and smart grid infrastructure, with conferences at the ICM the day before and during.*

## Quick Facts

| DATES | VENUE | ORGANISERS | SCALE |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8–10 June 2027 | Messe Munchen | Solar Promotion and FWTM | 2,000+ exhibitors, 100,000+ attendees expected from 160+ countries |

## Definition

The smarter E Europe is an alliance of four energy exhibitions held together at Messe Munchen: Intersolar Europe for photovoltaics and solar thermal, ees Europe for batteries and energy storage, Power2Drive Europe for electric mobility and charging infrastructure, and EM-Power Europe for energy management and smart grids. The 2027 edition runs from 8 to 10 June, with the conference programme at the ICM Munchen on 7 and 8 June. Organisers expect more than 2,000 exhibiting companies and over 100,000 attendees from more than 160 countries.

## What The smarter E is for

The four shows were merged because their markets merged. A rooftop solar installer now sells batteries; a battery manufacturer sells into vehicle charging; a charge point operator needs grid management software. Rather than run four fairs, the organisers put them under one roof and one badge, and let visitors follow the value chain across halls. For manufacturers, particularly the Chinese and European photovoltaic and battery suppliers who dominate the floor, it is the largest European sales appointment of the year.

## Who attends

- Solar and storage installers, wholesalers and distributors
- Project developers for utility-scale solar and storage
- Battery and inverter manufacturers and their supply chain
- Charge point operators and electric mobility infrastructure providers
- Utilities and energy service companies
- Investors and asset owners in renewable generation

## The four shows

- Intersolar Europe: photovoltaics, solar thermal and large-scale solar plants
- ees Europe: batteries, energy storage systems and applications
- Power2Drive Europe: charging infrastructure and electric mobility
- EM-Power Europe: energy management, smart grids and flexibility

## How the conference works

The Intersolar Europe Conference and the parallel conferences run at the ICM Munchen on 7 and 8 June 2027, one day ahead of and overlapping with the exhibition. This separation is deliberate: the conference is a paid, content-led programme for developers and analysts, while the exhibition halls are a commercial floor. Attendees frequently buy only one of the two.

## How it compares with the other European energy events

The smarter E is the manufacturing and installation end of the transition. Enlit Europe is the utility and grid end. E-world is the trading, retail and municipal utility end. WindEurope is wind. There is little overlap in exhibitor list or in visitor job title between them, and treating them as substitutes is a common planning mistake.

## FAQ · Identity and audience

### Is Intersolar Europe a separate event?

Intersolar Europe is one of the four exhibitions inside The smarter E Europe. It is the oldest and best known of them, which is why many people still call the whole thing Intersolar.

### Does one ticket cover all four shows?

Yes. The exhibitions run under one visitor badge at Messe Munchen. The conference programme at the ICM is ticketed separately.

### Who should not attend?

- Utility and grid strategy teams, better served at Enlit Europe
- Energy traders and retail teams, better served at E-world in Essen

## The organisers

The smarter E Europe is organised by Solar Promotion GmbH and FWTM, the Freiburg economic development and trade fair company, which have run Intersolar since its origins in the German solar industry.

## Editorial take

*Europe's largest solar and storage floor, four exhibitions stapled together because photovoltaics, batteries, charging and grids stopped being separate markets.*

## How to register and what it costs

Exhibition tickets are sold on the official website with advance discounts, covering all four shows across the three days. Conference passes for the Intersolar Europe Conference and the parallel programmes at the ICM are sold separately and are substantially more expensive. Exhibitor applications for the following edition open shortly after each show closes and the main halls fill early.

## FAQ · Access and practicalities

### When and where does the 2027 edition take place?

Exhibition 8 to 10 June 2027 at Messe Munchen, Am Messesee 2, Munich. Conferences 7 and 8 June 2027 at the ICM Munchen.

### How large is the event?

Organisers expect more than 2,000 exhibitors and over 100,000 attendees from more than 160 countries.

### Is the fair in German or English?

Both. The exhibition floor is bilingual and the conference programme runs largely in English, reflecting an international exhibitor base.
