Three days at the Bella Center in Copenhagen combining the European wind industry's conference and its exhibition, run by the sector's own association.
The WindEurope Annual Event is the yearly conference and exhibition of WindEurope, the association representing the European wind energy industry. The 2027 edition returns to Copenhagen, at the Bella Center, from 20 to 22 April. The organiser expects more than 16,000 participants from across the wind value chain, including ministers, chief executives, investors and decision-makers. The event pairs a conference programme covering technology, policy and finance with an exhibition of turbine manufacturers, component suppliers, developers, installers and service companies.
Because WindEurope is a trade association rather than an exhibition company, the annual event functions as the sector's assembly as well as its trade fair. Policy positions get shaped here, auction design and permitting rules get argued over with the ministers present, and the association's own data and market outlooks are released around it. That gives the conference programme more weight than it would carry at a commercially organised show, and it explains the seniority of the attendance.
Denmark is the historic centre of the European wind industry, home to the largest turbine manufacturer and to the developer that built much of Europe's offshore capacity, with a supply chain and port infrastructure built around the sector over four decades. The event returning to Copenhagen puts it in the middle of that concentration, and the Danish government's involvement in the sector means unusually direct political participation.
WindEurope also runs a dedicated offshore-focused event in alternate years, and the annual event covers onshore and offshore together. For the offshore supply chain specifically, the Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference in Amsterdam each November covers the same contractors from the maritime side. The distinction is framing: WindEurope organises around wind as an industry, OEEC organises around offshore as a working environment.
